The terrace is an open space of the house shaded by the roof. Usually have two or four poles, with a surface tend to be raised from the ground floor. As a transitional space from outside to inside or vice versa, the terrace is expected to reflect the character designs have a touch of home and surrounding natural environment.

Portico is a welcome part of the house where the guests come, sometimes the impression of being picked up by the guests could be brought up to the house. Terrace house can also be located beside or behind the house as a relaxing sitting area.

Terrace at its core is a shelter, so if a house has little land and little eaves, it may not yet be called a terrace. The terrace should at least serve to receive guests before entering the house, or a place to chat on the front, side or rear of the house. The terrace can be a substitute for the living room to a small house so they can save construction costs.
